President Barack Obama will be visiting Walt Disney World this Thursday to “unveil a strategy that will significantly help boost tourism and travel.” The President’s speech is said to focus on visas, making it easier for tourists to visit from countries such as China and Brazil.
President Obama will be arriving at Orlando International Airport via Air Force One around 11:40am. He is expected to leave Central Florida less than three hours later, around 2:15pm. During this time he will give his speech on the Castle Forecourt Stage, located directly in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Walt Disney World has announced many changes for this day (Thursday, Jan 19) including:
-Main Street USA will remain closed until after the President leaves, guests will be directed backstage to access lands and attractions
-Extra Magic Hours added to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom
-Rock the Night Fireworks Spectacular at 7pm at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
-Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade delayed to 3:30pm
-Additional Frontierland Hoedown shows
-Additional Dance Parties added to Tomorrowland
-Parking restrictions at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
-Park entry blocked for anyone using a Disney Company ID
-Heavy increase of security throughout the park
